SCHNEIDER is one of the world’s leading manufacturers for the development and production of machines in the fields of ophthalmics, precision optics and ultra-precision optics.
The company, which was founded in 1986 by Gunter Schneider, currently has more than 430 employees and is located in the US, Brazil, Hong Kong, Thailand and China.
Pioneering the freeform idea in the ophthalmic business, SCHNEIDER had the vision to manufacture individual lenses on freely definable mathematical descriptions. Ranging from single machines to highly integrated cognitive manufacturing systems, the company delivers solutions for surfacing, cleaning, coating and edging.
As a full solutions provider, SCHNEIDER offers complete fully-automated production lines for small, medium and large lens producing labs.
The SCHNEIDER portfolio comprises grinding, polishing, and centering machines for various precision spherical and aspherical optics applications.
The diamond turning lineup enables Ultra-Precision manufacturing of freeform optics and off-axis mirrors. The solutions cover a wide spectrum of optics sizes to match individual requirements ranging from 5 to 1500 mm in diameter.
SCHNEIDER’s machines are utilized in numerous industries including aerospace, medical, lithography and projection optics.
The ALP 120 is SCHNEIDER’s brand-new aspherical lens polisher specifically designed for high-quality polishing of aspheric lenses. It is complemented by the Advanced Polishing System 3D (APS 3D), offering an intelligent process flow. To minimize process and measuring iterations, the new APS 3D software automatically considers the correction of previous grinding errors and continuously controls significant threshold values. The result: A new level of accuracy in deterministic polishing.
The compact and highly dynamic three-axis ultra-precision center UPC 300 machines work pieces of up to 300 mm diameter (optional up to 700 mm). An optional long stroke Fast Tool processes a wide range of freeform geometries increasing the productivity in freeform machining significantly. The optional Y-axis turns this machine into an UPC 700 enabling additionally diamond milling and ruling of complex freeform geometries or micro features for maximum machining flexibility.
